Description
When I posted my Chinese Dragon illustration, I briefly mentioned that they come in a plethora of different colors based on both descriptions from classical Chinese works and how they are shown in Chinese traditional art. Most of the time, the colors correspond to the elemental system of the Wuxing (red, yellow, blue/green, black, and white), but there are also a few others that don't. In my Modern Mythologies, Lóngs have many magical abilities including control over water and water-oriented weather phenomenon, flight, shapeshifting, chameleon-like camouflage, and bioluminescence, but those born with certain colors also have other unique abilities:

- Qīnglóng and Yǔlong: they can enrich the growth of plant life, heal injuries, and pacify others into serene and restful states. These powers are strongest when in China’s eastern regions and during spring.

- Zhūlóng and Chénsèlóng: their fire-breathing is enhanced via pyrokinesis, and they can induce strong positive emotions and vitality with their own charisma. These powers are strongest when in China’s southern region and during summer.

- Báilong and Fěnhònglòng: They are more in tune with the force of Yang and as such are more reposed, able to purify ailments and negativity with a single touch. These powers are strongest when in China’s western regions and during autumn.

- Hēilóng and Zǐlong: They are more in tuned with the forces of Yin and are thus more vengeful, channeling their wrath in their greater control over weather and the destructiveness of their storms. These powers are strongest when in China’s northern regions and during winter.

- Huánglóng and Zōnglóng: Though they don’t have any additional powers, their magical and natural abilities are comparatively stronger, more so when at the center of China and during the last month of summer.
