The line art itself is very good, I'd say a 9 out of 10 because one can always improve ^_^ There are some areas of shading that don't match up very well with the rest of his body, but it's not noticeable unless you deeply stare into it. And uh...what's with his missing arm? e.deviantart.com/emoticons/let⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Lick)" /> Also, without his shadow being cast beneath his body his left leg looks very much shorter than the other and a little not proportionate. As far as coloring, generally the luminosity of the colors go well together, so no real probelm there e.deviantart.com/emoticons/let⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Lick)" />. you did great in other words e.deviantart.com/emoticons/b/b⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)" />

The missing arm... I guess you have to be a major TMNT-nerd to understand. It's based off of an episode from the 2k3 series called: 'Same as it Never Was'. Donny travels to the future, which is very dark, and... It's kind of a long story and I don't feel like establishing myself as a total loser!I only recently started tinkering with shading, so I know I need serious work with that. I think I got really sloppy on this one because I'm so impatient. I try to do muscle structure study... a lot of good that does! His left leg did bother me and I struggled quite a bit with the sketches on this trying to fix it, but when the eraser started to eat through the page I decided it was time to settle. Thanks so much to taking the time to critique! I'll keep practicing.

Ah...well don't be ashamed of something you know so much about ask me about Star Wars and I'll probably never shut up Well I'd have to admit that shading is one of the hardest part of art, because you can go so wrong or so well with it.Haha yeah that's when it's time to just be content with what you've got

Oh hush, you're totally allowed to mix styles. I like this piece, there are some things I really like but also a couple of things that need work.Like =Takanahara said there's a few places where the shading looks a little off; the one that stands out to me is Mike's left thigh. The deep shadows on top of the leg make him look like he's lost a chunk. I really love the shading on his left shoulder... but there doesn't seem to be a lot on his chest-strappy-thing or his plastron.Speaking of losing chunks, I see you included some of his battle scars, excellent~ You may want to do something special to them to separate them from the rest of your shading though; I think reducing the color saturation would work well but please feel free to experiment so it looks the way you want it.I really like his expression, he's so tired but he keeps on fighting anyway. :3Perspective... is tricky. (I have a lot of trouble with it too, and with the same kind of "leg going into the distance" thing that's in this picture too!) References are very helpful for perspective and anatomy difficulties. Do a Google search for a similar pose, or use a mirror and see what your legs look like when you get into that pose.I hope this helped...!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a well rounded critique. It means so much to me because I have trouble improving when I don't know what's wrong. I can look at my art and see that something isn't right, I just have trouble pinpointing the faults. I'm fairly new to digital coloring, so I'm still trying different things to see what works best. Now that a little time has passed since I posted this, it makes me blush a little because the faults are more glaring than ever! Practice makes perfect, though! I have been collecting photos of different poses and postures, so hopefully my angles will improve soon. Thanks again for your input!
