Back in '03 while Mucha Lucha helped me cope with how ungodly rotten middle school is, My Life as a Teenage Robot was my little brother's favorite Nicktoon. Tonight, he was remembering episodes with vivid, accurate clarity. I feel like I've been neglecting the older toons of my childhood; my cycle of going and pawing back through them started back in late summer of 2012 with "Hey Arnold!." It's been a different cartoon every month since then.

I started looking for and watching episodes again after I caught this at 4 in the morning over one weekend. The more I watch, the more I want to kick myself in the shin for not paying better attention to this show when it was on the air. It's a true blue gem: Great sense of humor, distinctive style, interesting setting, and interesting characters. I love how the show takes place in the far future, eluding to culture and fashion having a throwback to the 1950s while having high-tech and sci-fi elements interspersed. My favorite characters, hands down, are Nora and Sheldon. Norma, because she's quirky and intelligent; her prowess as an inventor shines through every time Jenny's in action! Sheldon, because he's intelligent, awkward, and nerdy to the extreme, but can be a very capable and adaptive hero when he wants to be.

I'll admit this upfront, though: I'm not a SheldonXJenny supporter.

Sheldon's crush is insanely adorable, don't get me wrong. It's just: He's an unabashed stalker; he's such a ferocious jealous type that he goes way out of his way to try and subvert any competition for Jenny's affections; he doesn't get the concept of 'no' or giving Jenny space. It's hilarious to watch, but I don't condone such behavior. After being stuck with a clinger in real life, I empathize more with Jenny than I do with Sheldon.

If Sheldon mellowed out and toned it down, he'd probably increase his chances with Jenny. It's been implied that she would go for him eventually; he just needs to learn to be patient and either wait for an appropriate time to make a move or let her approach him.

I'd probably be a BradXJenny supporter...It's just: Melody's so darn cute. I like her with Brad just a little bit more. <3
