A little over a month ago I made a post on my main blog about wanting to make an American Girl historical OC and Kelsey was the result. I wanted to try and draw her in the style of the original books from American Girl so here is Meet Kelsey!

Kelsey is a 10 year old that lives in Indianapolis in the 90s with her recently divorced mom and her mom’s girlfriend. In her story she adjusts to life with her parents divorced, having a gay parent, and adjusting to a new relationship with her moms best friend now girlfriend. She also has to deal with the bullying from classmates about having a gay mom and being one of the only female members in her schools computer club. She loves computers and video games and aspires to work with them one day.

This was my first time colouring like this and I think it came out alright. I’d like to do covers like the other books for her but this took me like 6 hours and I can only focus so long on something. Anyway hope you enjoy!
