This is a Godzilla concept I came up with for the Arvalis discord contest. You can check out the non-animated versions here:

Godzilla is an ancient placoderm that managed to crawl it's way into the present day. When young, it is thought to survive off predation and filter feeding, as well as natural radiation present in the ocean floor. As it grows older and larger in size, it 's believe to increasingly depend on deap sea radiaoactivity as well as semi-ocasional predation of large marine creatures. This subterranean environment has pushed Godzilla into titanic proportions, which, coupled by the nuclear radiation that now irradiates from it's body, have lead to the forming of microenvironments on it's dorsal spines that have come to emulate hydrothermal vents. Like it's hosts body, the creatures that reside in this enviroment also develop gigantism. Little is known about it's reproduction, only that very few super adult specimens presently exist, living for milenia in the dark abyss. While it's presence was only ever thought to be myth and legend throughout most of human history, nuclear testing and human depletion of large cetaceans have transformed Godzilla from a mere historical curiosity, to an ever increasing, and extremely alarming threat.
