Description
Here we see the two other major lineages of the order Tarphycerida cephalopod. These are the barradeoceratid group that included four families; the Barrandeoceratidae, Bickmoritidae, Nephriticeratidae, and Uranoceratidae. And the third and final lineage called the plectoceratid group which consisted of the following three families; the Plectoceratidae, Lechritrochoceratidae, and Apsidoceratidae. As one can see the group has varying levels of coiling but the most interesting ones are perhaps a pair of genera (Sphyradoceras and Lechritrochoceras) that had asymmetric snail like shells and were perhaps bottom dwellers compared to other more active species.
