Description I yawned, a clipboard in my hand. I had a task to do. It was time for a meme. “Skylark?” I called out. Despite Writer’s Space being a desolate white plane, with no beginning or end, it was quite easy to find your characters. You just had to call. “Skylark, come here, please.” I sat crisscross on my bed, laptop resting against my legs. Waiting. It wasn’t long before my newest child, Skylark Witherspoon, appeared in front of me.

“Yes, Mama?” he said, tilting his head. “You called?”

“Hello, Sky. Today, we are going to do a meme,” I said coolly. Sky scrunched up his eyebrows in confusion. That’s right, this was Sky’s first meme. It was a rite of passage, almost. His first meme. “A meme, Sky. It’s where I get to talk about you, explain you a little bit. But first, you need to get dressed.”

Normal

“But, Mama,” Sky said, confused, “I already am dressed.” And, of course, he was. Quite well dressed, if I do say so myself. A dark gray t-shirt, long, dark jeans, and black army boots… he’s not sloppy, that’s for sure. Ah, but his Hia Valley instincts kick in at the light-gray/black-gray striped scarf. Have to have something of home. I guess the blue pendant comes along with the homely package, after all, it is one of the Tears of Princes.

“I know, Skylark. But that’s just the beginning. This is where the meme… truly begins.” I placed a checkmark on the meme. First item of business, check!

Sleepwear

Clicka tappa, clicka tappa. My fingers flurried across the keyboard, madly cramming words onto a document. Slowly, Sky’s clothing began to change.

“Wha-what’s going on!?” he shouted, looking around frantically.

“Hold still, Sky,” I said, not taking my eyes off the keyboard. “This is where the meme takes place. We must add a new segment to your fashion sense.”

And with that, Sky had a lovely pair of pajamas. Living in a frozen valley sure taught the boy something. He wore a thick, gray sweater, that was even softer on the inside. Whether it was for the comfiness or the warmth, I’m not quite sure. Probably both. He also wore fluffy gray pajama pants, and a pair of oddly colored mismatched socks.

Does Sky even own a pair of matching socks? I think, no. He does not. I looked over at the next box of the meme and grinned.

Underwear

Sky gulped. “Um. Mama? Why are you smiling?”

“Sky?” I said, looking up deviously from the computer. “I need you to strip down to your underwear.”

Sky’s look of confusion turned to a look of horror. “You want me to do what!?” he shrieked, “But I- I’m not- what if I--”

“Oh shoosh. It’s not like I don’t know what a diddly-dong-doodely looks like.” I shrugged. “And it’s not like you’re taking off your underwear. We just want to see you in your underwear.”

“NO.”

I sighed. Well, this wasn’t as fun, but it will do. I pressed the delete button. And most of his clothes vanished, leaving behind a naked Sky, clothed only in a pair of briefs. Not any white briefs, Thomas the Tank Engine briefs. Sky and I both smacked our foreheads.

“You wear THOSE!?” I screeched.

“You came up with my being! Technically, my underwear was YOUR IDEA!”

Curses. He has a point.

Swimwear

“Alright,” I said, sighing. “Let’s get you dressed.”

“With what?” Sky said, still quite angry at the disappearance of his clothes. I tossed him a pair of loose, gray shorts, with a blue stripe going down on the sides. Sky put them on, and bit his lip.  “Swim trunks?”

“This is summer camp, Sky,” I said, rolling my eyes. “You’re going to be going swimming sometime during your time here.”

“But I only learned how to swim in case I fell into Hia Lake…” he said, looking away sheepishly. I sighed, and pulled out a large paper fan.

And proceeded to SMACK SKYLARK IN THE HEAD WITH THE FAN.

“NO WONDER YOUR PARENTS DECIDED TO SEND YOU TO SUMMER CAMP!” I shouted, “YOU NEED CONTACT WITH WARM ANYTHING!”

Sky rubbed his head, pouting a little. “Can we just move on?”

Formal Wear

“Of course,” I said, pulling out my wand of magic science writing. I waved it around aimlessly for a bit, as Cinderella-transformation sparkles twirled around Sky.

In an instant, Sky’s swim trunks turned into some sweet threads. His scarf and pendant were back, bringing along with them a simple, black jacket, a white button-up shirt, and black slacks. He looked pretty good. Very modern. Aaand, that’s all I want to write for this particular section. Moving on.

Halloween Costume

“So, Sky, what do you want to go as for Halloween?” I said, my hands poised to write.

“Um…” he thought, carefully. Suddenly, his face lit up. “Altair! Altair and his white cloak!” Pop! His sweet threads turned into a beautiful cosplay of Altair, complete with stubble that you can actually see. Oh, if only I could make this costume in real life! My whole existence would become complete!

Genderbent

Clicka clappa, ticka tacka, clip. Changing a character’s gender after its set can be very hard. Oftentimes, when coming up with a genderbend, it’s easiest to make a carbon copy of the character. And thus, so I was.

Sky watched in awe as his female counterpart unfurled in front of him. He was about as tall as him, with a near congruent facial structure. They had the same gunmetal blue eyes, the same thin lips, the same platinum blonde hair -- although, she had grown her hair out, and kept it tied back in a ponytail. She wore a gray tanktop and jeans, as well as a jacket tied around her waist.

“Woah,” Sky said, reaching out to touch her. “She looks so… me.” She stared unblinkingly across the room, focused on nothing. “But, she acts so robotic.”

“That’s because her personality resides in you,” I said, getting off my bed and walking up to him. Although I was a foot shorter than him, I put my arm on his back. “She’s just you, except, you have the personality cloud in you. She’s just a body.”

Sky looked at me, confused. “What do you mean? Personality cloud, what?”

“I’ll tell you later, Sky. The answer to your question is very complex, as it has to do with the way I create characters. To give you a short answer, a personality cloud is your spirit, in essence -- it’s your personality, your likes, your dislikes, your all.” I sighed, and jumped back on my bed. “Now. Moving on.”

Magical Girl

POOF! And then, there was BAD 80’s MUSIC!

Sky stood there, Shojo legs and all. He was wearing a tight white leotard, with puffy sleeves, and your standard Sailor Moon collar, colored in Sky’s standard light-gray/dark-gray pattern. His emblem/jewel/thing was a blue, teardrop shape, and his tiered miniskirt a dark gray. His hair attempted to pigtail, but alas, it failed miserably.

“You’re ready, Sailor Pluto,” I said, admiring the fine craftmanship.

“But, but Mama!” Sky said, flustered and desperately trying to keep his skirt down. “Pluto’s not a planet!”

Oh no. He did NOT. I could feel myself bursting into flames (I can do that, shut up). “VIVA LA PLUTO, MOTHER GOOSE!”

Sky flew back (in the most exaggerated way possible), covering his horrified face. “Forgive me, Mother!” he stuttered, “For I have sinned!”

King Shuppet

I don’t want to do this one. Is that okay? Yes? Good, no King Shuppet. It would probably look just like a shuppet with a scarf anyway.

Snow Wear

“Mama, am I done yet?” Sky said. His face sunk. Had I pushed him too hard? I don’t know. But I was time to show a little love.

“Not yet, Sky. But… I saved the best for last.” I smiled sweetly, attempting to show that as a writer, I truly did love my characters. “Skylark, you’re forgetting your winter wear.”

Sky’s face lit up, as suddenly, he was surrounded by snow! White flakes swirled around him, acting as a curtain. When the snow cleared, Sky was in a whole new outfit, with a big stupid grin on his face. He had on a black, turtleneck t-shirt, and long, black jeans, covering a pair of snow boots. Of course, he had on his scarf and necklace, but he had with him his favorite article of clothing -- an ice blue parka.

Sky squealed in excitement. “It’s like being home again!” He ran around in the snow mound before flopping down in the stuff. Ah, yes. Your adorkable, Sky. Simply adorkable.

In Conclusion

“Well, Sky, I think I’ll let you go now,” I said, as his clothes changed back to his normal attire. “You’ll find your casual attire, swimwear, underwear, sleepwear, and sweet threads in your bags. You couldn’t bring along your snowwear, but… I let you sneak in your parka. Just in case.”

Sky bowed a little. “Thank you, Mama.”

“I’ll see you soon, Sky,” I said, looking up, “I expect you to be bright and ready when I call you.”

And with that, the monitor shut off, effectively ending the meme.

Okay, I'm using this for the meme. I have to ask, why Pluto out of the sailor scouts?

Seriously, the only reasons I chose Pluto was because Pluto is gray and I wanted to shout Viva La Pluto
