Description
The second of a miniseries of dragon busts that were inspired by The Bones of Makaidos by Bryan Davis. I finally finished it and wanted to draw a bunch of dragons by the end....

This is actually the first dragon bust that I did. I wanted to come up with something that kind of actually looked like the dragons described in the series, but as usual I started going off in a more crazy direction pretty quickly. There are a lot of things in this facial design that aren't in the books at all (like the spiny tongue, haha, but I couldn't resist!), so I can't really call it a canon design. It's more like inspired but not limited to that universe.

This is actually my first attempt EVER at doing scale detail. Normally I just make my dragons smooth-skinned (or at least appear so), so this is kind of an experiment, too. x)
