Hahahaha I've fallen into a spiral of bad habits, and sharing more of two images in the same year is one of them, I guess.
I must admit that I'm a little "monolith-phile" (??) because this damn movie! Surely you will see more black monoliths on future pieces.
If you want to create this kind of sky, first make sure the image you use is a perfect square, and it's size is bigger that you need (because, after applying the filter, the outer area of the picture is totally useless and you need to crop it). Then to go to Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates (“rectangular to polar” option selected) and, after that, use the Clone Stamp Tool -or the Healing Brush- in the area where the edges join. Optionally, you can go to Filter>Distort>Pinch for doing the effect even more prominent. That's all.
