Description After learning SAI and seeing the greatness of it. I just had to share it with all my friends. And so I made a tutorial to show them even more of the greatness.
And to also show those like me with bad hand-eye co-oridination thus bad line-art the greatness of it!
It's just THAT GREAT!

So Sai Line-Art Tutorial.

Edit: OKAY PEOPLE STOP FAVING THIS SERIOUSLY! Do you know how old this is? How badly it was written? How badly it was drawn? How bored I was for making it and how much better other tutorials out there are? I mean come on... STOP FAVING THIS!

To select multiple points:
click the Edit tool on the Pen layer, and choose the Select mode (first one)
then click and drag to select an area
all the points in this area will be selected
click the pressure tool
now apply pressure to one of the points
but look! all of the points had their pressure changed!

Then with that tool selected, right click to deselect everything. Just figured this out after looking everywhere and not finding anything. So happy!

are you making sure to use the vector tools?
they are only accessible in Linework layers
in your box that you can choose new layers,
instead of choosing the option with the paper icon,
pick the one that has a pen over it. then all of your tools
will be different (those are your vectoring tools)
they are very different from your regular drawing tools,
but with some experimenting they can be extremely useful!

Thank you for the reply as I never thought I would get one

I did figure out what was wrong... and it had nothing to do with my SAI funny enough my tablets drivers needed updated.

This is awesome!!! Thank you so much! I don't even care that it's old because I've been so disheartened by trying to draw straight lines by hand for so long and hating myself because I never could. Thank you!!!!

I think the select segment thing is

like

if you select a couple of segments,

and then decide to change one, all of the selected segment will change the same way...

This is a long process for me because my tablet is broken, so I draw the pictures on paper, and they end up anything but neat, then I have to scan them onto my computer open them in sai, and trace. All of this may take me up to 3 hours at most. Then there' the coloring

BlazingFlareonX [2013-06-26 15:11:56 +0000 UTC]

It's different for me :S When I hit 'edit' it has different options, like 'translate CP' and 'stroke dup/translate'. I have no idea

pandaarya In reply to KoopaCutie [2013-09-04 14:09:46 +0000 UTC]

All you have to do is right click with your mouse, and it will deselect everything You just accidentally selected all of the lines. Right clicking anywhere on the canvas should fix the problem

Simple. Merge it down onto a blank normal (raster) layer.

ChibiKenzie In reply to sarapandaisawshum [2013-01-02 23:49:56 +0000 UTC]

Are you sure you have created a Linework/Vector layer? That's when the tools will pop. but if not, re-install is a good option.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

daddysarmygirl In reply to sarapandaisawshum [2012-12-20 22:29:36 +0000 UTC]

well if you got it free then you may have gotten one of the older versions or it could just be a glitch and you may want to re install it

I loved it! It cleared me some doubts I had. Just a question. When I duplicate various lines, they become red with "Edit Tool" On, and then, if I erase one of those lines, all the red ones disappear at the same time and I don't know what to do to avoid this! D: I looked at internet but I don't find any info. Can you help me, please? TT_TT
