This animal was created for the #specchallenge6 and the topic was "noodle bird" so there you have, let's begin talking about this animal:

Spotted Vineduck (Ophiogenitalia maculatus):
Length: 30cm
Wingspan: 50cm

The Spotted Vineduck is a species of duck native to Hawaiia, and it's a member of a unique family of ducks(Ophiogenitalidae) that have developed a very unusual mating ritual. Essentially what they do is when it's mating season males congregate and climb small trees over rivers and lakes waiting for females and when they're there... they extend their extremely long, brightly colored penises and their feathers to attract females. Yep, this species' males use their penises to attract mates, the reason why they developed this trait is still unknown, there's some theories about that, but more research is needed to know which of them is true.
Besides all of this weirdness, this animal is pretty similar to modern ducks. It feeds on worms and other small invertebrates hiding in the muddy river bottoms, for which it uses its long flat beak to take them out, all over Hawaiia, specially at low altitudes, where the rainforests where they live thrive because of all the rivers flowing down the inactive volcanoes.
