Description Now it’s time to make new enemies!!! Now I’m sure this means there’s going to be some old ones, but I promise you, the old ones will have something different in them so be prepared for that ^^ Now here’s a quick note. Last time I did this, I used Goombuster to do the TATTLE LOG. Well now, I’m using someone different. I’m using Robo T 3000, a tiny bot you get in the beginning of the story that aids you and your partners in your quest. He doesn’t count as a partner, but he can scan the enemies and puts them in the TATTLE LOG, or Scan Log. So that means the use of a partner to scan enemies is no longer required, although it still takes up the turn. That being said, let’s get this thing started.

First up is an old favorite, the Dry Bones. However these guys are different. They look EXACTLY what they are supposed to look like in the real Mario Universe. I made some new versions too. Enjoy =3

SCAN LOG

SCAN COMPLETE.
CREATURE: Dry Bones. The skeleton of a long-dead Koopa, reanimated through magic. Its undead status allows it to tirelessly patrol harsh environments, while the magic that spawned it allows it to create replicas of its own bones to use as projectile weapons.
STATS: HP 5/ATK 2/DEF 1
ATTACKS: Bone Throw
ANALYSIS: A Dry Bones is rather weak and fragile, so it is fairly easy to take down; the difficulty is in actually keeping it down. No matter how many times they are stomped or smashed, the magic that reanimated them can do so ad nauseum. However, it draws on the energy of its allies in order to expidite recovery; therefore, defeating all other foes before the Dry Bones can revive itself will keep it down for good. Extreme heat and/or concussive force may also prove effective.

SCAN COMPLETE.
CREATURE: Dusk Bones. A Dry Bones subspecies, reanimated from a Shady Koopa, that roams the Gear Forest.
STATS: HP 7/ATK 4/DEF 2
ATTACKS: Bone Throw/Bone Build
ANALYSIS: The dark magic empowering the Dusk Bones is much stronger than that of a Dry Bones. It can actually replicate its entire body, which allows it to build another Dusk Bones for aid battle. If left alive, a Dusk Bones will overwhelm its foes with a horde of itself. Destroying it first is a high priority.

SCAN COMPLETE.
CREATURE: Rook Bones. A Dry Bones subspecies wandering the Violent Volcano. It appears to be empowered by some sort of fire magic.
STATS: HP 10/ATK 7/DEF 2
ATTACK: Bone Throw/Bone Build/Fire Spit
ANALYSIS: Scans have shown a source of heat within the bodies of the Rook Bones. Because of this, they are able to spit fire at targets, which could lead to burns. They also have resistance to fire attacks, thanks to their hot environment, but their ice resistance is significantly lower than a standard Dry Bones. Exercise extreme caution!

SCAN COMPLETE.
CREATURE: Hollow Bones. A Dry Bones subspecies brought back by the Infinity Empire's necromancy. It has different abilities from the standard species, but its body is somewhat unstable from the dark power within it.
STATS: HP 14/ATK 9/DEF 3
ATTACK: Double Bone Throw/Fire Spit
ANALYSIS: Their blue-colored fire does more damage than that of the Rook Bones, and they can throw two bones at a time instead of one. Hollow Bones cannot build more of themselves, but their resurrection ability has changed; when defeated, they can detach their heads from their bodies to continue the fight. Their body disintegrates from the overloading magic that powers it, so defeating the head will finish off this eerie creature.

SCAN COMPLETE.
CREATURE: Infinity Bones. An advanced Dry Bones created by the Infinity Empire. It exhibits physiological and mental divergence from the previous subspecies, being more cunning and aggressive; supernatural possession a likely possibility.
STATS: HP 22/ATK 13/DEF 5
ATTACK: Triple Bone Throw/Fire Spit/Full Heal
ANALYSIS: Infinity Bones have even more abilities than the Hollow Bones, although they still lack the ability to self-replicate. They can now throw up to three bones at a time, their dark fireballs will cause Cancel status, and they can reconstitute their bodies even if their head is all that remains. If their head is not destroyed quickly, it can fully restore its health by attaching to a new body. Focus all attacks on it before it does.

As promised, there’s plenty more where that came from ^^

Dry Bones: NINTENDO
Big Credit in Advanced: (thank you so much for making this ^^)
Other species of Dry Bones: ME!!!

Awesome job!

However, I did notice one particular species that's been around since TTYD was the Dull Bones, and that doesn't seem to be in here. I don't really know if you forgot them or replaced them, or maybe even scrapped out, but it's just a quick note.

Anyhow, good job with this!

Yeah. And they look eeriely similar to yours. That picture came out a few months ago you know

Naw I'm kiddin' I can tell the difference enough. For one, Nintendo's version has a bigger head and is more upright. Also it's eyes are seperated.

...Son of a gun. We may have to update our Paper Mario enemy roster again, now; seems we may have to set our stat targets even higher to surpass what you're coming out with! (HINT: the first miniboss has 90 HP so far, and becomes a regular foe by about...Chapter 4.)

Well, your updates to the Dry Bones series are both clever (ties to Hell and the underworld) and ironic (what with the PM version's weakness to fire and all). We're not sure why you called the middle one "Rook", but they're all pretty cool. Your computer-like tattles aren't the best-flipping between Metroid Prime-style and your own voice, in our opinion-they're a decent start. Perhaps you'd take our assistance...for a small fee?

TheSpiderManager In reply to SliverEmperor [2011-07-16 20:19:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I'm not so good at the whole "Robotic Scan Log" Type deal, so yeah it looks like your assistance is required And I do have ton of points so it shouldn't be a hassle =3 We shall speak in our office (I.e. Notes)

SliverEmperor In reply to TheSpiderManager [2011-07-16 21:32:43 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. And so it begins...yeeesss.

Later on, we shall send you our Paper Mario data, and you can critique it for us. We think you'll neeed your brown pants for this...

Also, update: We've worked all of the main villains from Super Paper Mario into the game...except Mr. L, due to his fans refusing to see him brutally owned.
