Sophie was lonely.

There, she said it.

Ever since her older sister had started going out again (thank chii for that) she found herself wandering their house, only Rue's runeboo Melon to keep her company-and they weren't the friendliest of runeboos, to be honest.

For awhile, Sophie considered getting a pet of her own to keep her company. Something small and cute to take care of, perhaps. But the more she thought about it, the less it seemed like the answer. She had this desire to care for something, regardless of how it looked or how it acted towards her. Almost like how it was when she'd egg sit for her sister, a sense of responsibility, something...oh.

Dang it, she knew what she wanted. But how to get it? And how would her sister react?

Heartkindle had started.

And Sophie was nervous. Not like that was new or anything-she was often nervous when out on her own these days. Sure town had been safe for over a year from the plague and deelagun, but she was often glancing towards the shadowed streets and alleys, careful to avoid them.  But today she wasn't nervous because of what could be lurking in the shadows.

She was nervous because of who she'd meet in the light.

Sophie wasn't too surprised to find that someone had responded to the note she'd left up by the Rattles Rest, it was the season of love and even when it wasn't 'gros were often willing to help out another who wanted a baby. But that didn't make it any easier for her look around and try to figure out who exactly she'd be with for the arrangement. That was nerve wracking-making sure you didn't walk up to the wrong 'gro. Add in the fact she hadn't told her older sister about any of this and it was clear to see why she was a nervous wreck.

As the town square filled up with 'gros going about their morning errands, Sophie forced herself to take a deep breath and relax. 'Gros did this all the time, Rue would likely understand, and she'd find the 'gro who had picked up the note sooner or later.

Sooner seemed to be the case, as she caught a glimpse of her hand-written notice in the hand of an orange quad sitting under a street lamp, just as she had written to be today. This, this was it then.

Time to introduce herself.
