oh, unpolite me...Why did I assume so?
I said:
last time we had contact was on Feb, 4th in 2011
it is a wonderful play of light and shadows. oh I am not the first one saying somethin *thinks even harder*
a photography could not have the same mellow texture like this painting has -Β  a mellow and rough surface like from a plum or peach...you solved it well, for you have not been there and not having the original scene in front of you, but the photography of it - *senses slight irony*...

That is advantage of painting- I did tuck this photo, even framed exactly same way as a painting is, but after that I did take in work a points that I love with passion! Marks of tiime play in light and shadow in the same time, there is no mashine yet can record it! Same is with portrait- You paint complete image of a friend or daughter, You paint everything that You know about him! Sometimes the image can last 15 minutes, sometimes whole life! And that is a mission of artist! Good photo can also give that!
Your comment is very inspirativ for me, thank You very much!

This is really good, very realistic. I really like these types of places, and pictures where there's paint pealing off of the brick, It reminds me of the old times where places were built with brick or stone. It has a sturdy feeling, i dunno I like those older eras. good job by the way.Β

thesvetislav In reply to Mattinthehatcreation [2013-07-22 18:42:30 +0000 UTC]

Everything is relative, old and new ages, we still build houses with bricks (stone mostly for decoration). Interesting is that houses like this partly were built with handmade clay bricks, no fired (raw dry clay). It is nice to record it and look interesting.
You can see it on paintings under my windovs, sometimes it is hard to find same color.

oh, som many bricks, perhaps you're tired to draw it light\shadows are beautiful, reminds me retro film photo, I see air here - little fog of light.

I am so glad that You like it- You manage atmosphere much more easy.
I hope that there is even a bit of mood that You put in Your sunny paintings.

Hangmoon In reply to thesvetislav [2013-04-19 10:06:29 +0000 UTC]

Art have the several rules obut air in pictures, shadows must be more colorfull, and lights are more pale, but open color lik "ultramarine" is very dark, and unexperienced artists mix it with white, but white is killing saturation of paint. Rebrandt said: "white is the poison for shadows" (but if sadows droped on white, you can use white in shadows) to make seturated shadows you must do it like whatercolor - transparent. Dark colors have a big resource of gradation, white is not. If your sun spots not so bright you put open white on it, but some times it's still not glow - but if you make shadows more dark - the lights will shining. for example, look at this picture - looks at the shadows and lights, how it created [link]

Thank You for Your nice elaboration- I have never had one class of art and Your advice is precious for me.
I am a chemist and my knowledge is about organic and nonorganic colors, transparent, why can not be transparent and so on and we must try to use colors in best way. White is killer, yellow is stupid and so on... I agree with You and thank You, just to put You a question about digital painting?
In general, Your opinion...

Hangmoon In reply to thesvetislav [2013-04-19 19:35:00 +0000 UTC]

what about digital painting? my opinion about digital painting? I think it's harder, becouse you choice colors from color picker - and not from palette like oil palette, CG easy for draw details, but you must use your imagination and mind more than at the oil painting from life or photo. In Cg I always draw from my imagination - I need knowledge of anatomy, perspective and other other other, oil seems very easy after CG(I started from CG)

I am self-education too, I was lerning on programmer

No doubt, very inteligent and great eye.I did try photoshop (may be 3) about 95-96. but I did stop because of feel of effemery. I always love to create a firm object with my hands.
My thoughts are about question- what could Leonardo create with techniques and analyses that give mashines of today. Could be Cg painting better than oil on canvas or only -time is money and nothing else?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Hangmoon In reply to thesvetislav [2013-04-20 15:36:35 +0000 UTC]

CG art don't give money, people draw what they want it's give some times very interesting art, Leonardo draw portraits, becouse only portraits can give him money for life in that time. Now CG Art is popular, but not the CG artist. But I agree with you - real painting give feeling of real value, real thing. Than I draw CG I want more favs and comments, but at oil - I have already have a "nice thing", not really needed favs... But I oil needed to be sold, I still not tryng sold some of my works (i am a little afraid)

You can only be afraid to give beautiful ambient painting to someone who do not deserve it for a little amount of money. But still, You can paint another ten, and he is not able even think about it.
On the market my houses are ugly and I am in some kind of underground, my theme is white plague, lack of children.
