Description Theme 60. 90 to go!

While I was weeding in the back yard, I noticed this very forlorn-looking flower. She's a variety called Sunbright. Seems she doesn't fit in with the red roses out front.

Cheer up, little Sunbright!

Well, to start I have to tell you I love how the colors on the whole piece blend with each other so nicely, and they make such a good combination.
I don't particularly like the "pose" of the rose as it seems to me like if it was broken instead of laying in a more tender and delicate way.
Still I think with flowers you get so many options and chances to experiment what you can get, otherwise look at my gallery. The key though is to invent ideas instead of those boring classic portraits with a flower in the vase, and I think with this picture you've covered that part already. Keep up the good work that you can master the art with experience.

I experimented with a couple different angles in taking this shot and couldn't quite get it perfect, so I do know what you mean about the flower's pose.

I did like taking an unconventional flower photo. Without the 100 theme challenge I would have never taken this photograph. It's really helped me look for pictures in places they wouldn't otherwise have presented themselves to me.

Thank you very much for the thoughtful critique

It does look kind of sad to see such a cheery flower downturned, which is an interesting angle since most people use flowers for saccharine images. I would have prefered it if the yellow flower were laying just off to the side with the red flowers in view, leaning away from the different flowers like it's ashamed.

I do like your suggestion about involving the other roses in the picture, but the red ones are in the front yard and this one is in the back yard! Hard to get that in the same frame
