Description " . . . like the Spirit of Christmas!"

I have been listening to a lot of OTR (Old Time Radio) drama (mainly American), and I simply adored some of the scenes popping into my head while listening of "The Shadow."  As a long-running (and one of the most famous) serials, it was hit-and-miss.  However, the Christmas story, "The Stockings Were Hung," from 1939, was wonderful.  Orson Welles, of course, played The Shadow (and his playboy alter ego, Lamont Cranston) for most of its run.  His "constant companion" (his sidekick and girlfriend, for all intents and purposes) was Margo Lane.  I liked this story partially because Margo had a wonderful '30s screwball comedy role with lots of barbs that made her Lamont's equal, but she was happy enough to receive the gift of a Christmas puppy.

"Oh Margo, have you been waiting long?"
"Oh, no, no, Lamont.  I just piled the snow on my best hat to look like the Spirit of Christmas!"

I modeled Margo's outfits based on some advertisements for coats from 1939 (also, it's not that much different from the mother's coat in "A Christmas Story" which I believe was set in 1937.)
