Description I'm currently working on a Chun-Li model that so far has been a pain in the butt! Thankfully my dad was helping me with it.
After some long hours we finaly managed to get the pieces together. The next step will be adding some contour putty into the cracks of the model.
Then after that, I'll add a cealant then I'm free to paint it. And the hair buns and spike cuffs are missing as I need to paint it first before adding it on.

Just wondering what color to paint her dress. I'm arguing over two colors, red or white

Good piece. What sort of modelling material did you used to make this one?

TheToonDevil In reply to Katrileo [2010-08-14 01:15:11 +0000 UTC]

Lets see, I've been using some modeling putty (actually it's wood putty), scalpel (cutting out any chips or edges of the model), paints, wow a number of things. lol

hey nice dude! i've got this vinyl kit but i haven't put it together yet.

the trick to getting no gaps is not to cut of to much of the excess plastic at once, just slice it off in thin slithers till it fits perfect.

anyways good luck with the panting mate!

TheToonDevil In reply to rgm501 [2010-05-01 15:51:51 +0000 UTC]

I found this model a little difficult, as the peices came in big chunks of plastic.
And cutting them off was the biggest problem. My dad told me whatever gaps are in the model we can cover with model filler.

But now, I feel he kinda over did the filler. I feel like he's not helping me very well with this model now.

Awesome! Actually if u do the painting job first and then put the parts together will be easier, otherwise there could be some dead corners here and there.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheToonDevil In reply to Nitrorola [2010-04-24 03:14:05 +0000 UTC]

I probably have to disagree with you there a little. I understand why you'd say that, but if I did color them indvidualy, then put them together, there would still be gaps.

We put it all together to fill those in. Then we'll paint it. Me and my dad have done models before.
And we manage to find methods that work. I'm sure if I take my time, it'll come out nicely. ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nitrorola In reply to TheToonDevil [2010-04-24 03:21:44 +0000 UTC]

Ah,I see. I didnt know there could be gaps though, looks like your idea is pretty brilliant! Cant wait to see the finished model XD.
PS: Did you get this from ebay?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheToonDevil In reply to Nitrorola [2010-04-24 03:25:23 +0000 UTC]

What we plan is the same method we use for painting the walls. We are going to place tape on areas of the model that we dont want colored.
Also if all else fails, we'll use the paint remover for mistakes.

And yes, I got this off Ebay. It was acctualy pretty cheap. They also had one Cammy and a few other SF characters.

Nitrorola In reply to TheToonDevil [2010-04-24 03:29:39 +0000 UTC]

Yup, I always like to use covering tape too. That was how I painted a Decepticon symbol on my friend's handphone.

Do you still have the ebay page for this seller?

Lol. No I havent watched that film yet. I've been a little busy with projects and such. I seem to making more work for myself for some reason. Lol

Nitrorola In reply to TheToonDevil [2010-04-24 03:42:33 +0000 UTC]

LOL, make more work for yourself? How did that happen??? My current job is giving me some shit too. Since I dont have enough work to do, and the boss doesnt allow internet and handphone, everyday I just sit there and drink tea. It's kinda boring...

Right now I'm waiting for Iron Man 2, not sure whether it comes in 3D though.

Fail! I failed so sorry is type-o! But we can leave it like that anyways!

Wow ur father is awesome and u did the statue look just like her. R u learning to make a anime figure models? It look like is a lot of work...

I bet u going to enjoy paiting her. But try to take ur time slowly painting u dun want chun li to be messed up now would we?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheToonDevil In reply to z0mbiraptor [2010-04-24 02:42:12 +0000 UTC]

Acctualy, this is one of those resin models that I picked up online.
It comes in peices, and me and pa cut them all out. Was pretty tricky.

And most likely I will be going slow with this model (unlike my Spiderman model).
I want to do the best I can with her. ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

z0mbiraptor In reply to TheToonDevil [2010-04-25 02:12:30 +0000 UTC]

How come u have to cut them out?
but yes go slowly

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheToonDevil In reply to z0mbiraptor [2010-04-25 02:17:07 +0000 UTC]

For some reason, the manufacturer decided to have all the peices stuck on chunks of plastic.
So in order to put them together, you need to cut the peices off.

And yes, it's a pain in da butt!

z0mbiraptor In reply to TheToonDevil [2010-04-25 02:22:54 +0000 UTC]

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh I get it now. That sounded frustrating... plus i wanted to go a good college that can teach me how to sculpt a figure statue like those anime figures...that will take a lot of practices.. >.>;;
