Description So in the break of the new Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer, I decided to sit down & do some more drawings and conceptual work for my characters. Today, after giving a lot of planning and ideas, I began on The Savage Gorgo's five headed nemesis of Primal World, Zargator, a character idealized and made for the series by

Now when people usually thing of many headed serpents/dragons, they usually turn to the Hydra, or King Ghidorah. Knowing that Zargator was heading that same route, I sat down and decided upon a few things.

Zargator not only needs to look different from the classic dragon designs, but he needs to FEEL different. So, how do you make a five headed dragon different from others? You make it more aggressive.

So far I'm having a lot of fun visualizing and designing the monster. When I picture Zargator, I picture a creature that is weighed down by heavy scales, armor and spikes, powered by enormous wings to give it flight. The most bizarre reference and inspiration for the characters anatomy and appearance has been the Snapping Turtle.

I figured , "yeah, those guys definitely appear heavy; slow, ponderous and highly aggressive." No where is that seen better right now than the head, with it's broad and sharp beak-like structure and incisors, hiding rows of blade-like teeth inside. I even made the neck especially large and thick. The main idea is that it will be the primary head of Zargator; the largest of the five, wheres the other four will be a tad smaller to fit both legs and wings. But we'll see

Things I will include in the future:

1) Armor: Zargator has to look and feel heavy, so adding armor plating and large scales throughout the body is a definite addition coming soon. If I take further inspiration from Snapping Turtles he may just have a "shell"-like structure on his back, most likely larger scales. The neck is something in particular I want to see if ideas work. Picture a neck-structure of iquana's or other turtles, but lightly armor plated.

2) Heads: The four additional heads will most likely be worked on next. I will work to see if I can fit equally large heads and neck on the body, but the way I'm picturing the rest of the dragon, it's unlikely. The other heads may end up smaller with a lighter design, perhaps snake-like or classic dragons

3) Wings: To support a creature of this planned mass, Zargator will need ENORMOUS wings. I plan to give him wings reminiscent of classic winged-dragons, able to fold and walk on to give an better cryptic sense.

That's all for now! Enjoy!
