Silver Samurai (Age of Apocalypse Redux)

It should be noted that this is Laurente's take on the art of Chris Bachalo who was the artist for the AoA run where this iteration appeared. It turned out really well and I like the fact that it's not quite as Stay-Puft as the original.

Don't get me wrong though, Bachalo spits out the art of my dreams and I don't question a single creative decision he makes.

This was probably one of my favorite costume redesigns for AoA. It was drastically different from his Earth-616 version while still being obvious who it was. I tried going more vibrant than I typically do and experimented with some new processes. I think it turned out really well and I'm ridiculously happy with the way the armor turned out.

I still wonder if I made the right choice with the sword blade though. Usually his sword is rendered as being composed of wild white energy, but I went a different path. In my head, he's a samurai, one of the pinnacles of human discipline and order and I wanted his blade to represent that.
