I have always found it funny that the castle where the good witch(or somthin', I forget) that is one of the froces of good has a forttress that can be in fucking MORDOR. This has bothered me since I was 7.

As it stands, this is excellent. At most, I could suggest maybe a few slight tweaks in certain areas, but the foundation of this painting is really solid. You really shouldn't be so hard on yourself.

Ah, a big improvement. I must confess, I didn't care for the initial version all that much, but now, in color, I like it a lot.
Overall, it's cool. The solid black obelisks could use some toning down perhaps, so that the contrast between them and the environment isn't so intense, but that's the only gripe I have with this.
I, personally, suck at environmental art so much, it's almost an art in itself, but I do like it when other people do it well - and this is well done. Very well done, sir

thanks mate! lol actually i like the solid black obelisks. love the way they contrast with the ash filled background. they are more of the center piece than the skullhead. lol.
i doing more enviroment nowadays for work. and at first i frown at it. but lately i see improvements and im pretty happy now.
