Description When I hear that trumpet sound
I'm gonna rise right out of the ground
Ain't no grave
Can hold my body down

Well meet me, Jesus, meet me
Meet me in the middle of the air
And if these wings don't fail me,
I will meet you anywhere.

"Hey there big boy." She smiled, laughing as Russian walked over to the stall door, giving her arm a nudge. "I know... it isn't fair that I haven't been able to really train with you." Lifting a hand she mindlessly stroked his face, her eyes fixing on the wounded ankle inside her riding boot. "But ya, see, the doctor told me to take it easy. And had you of not fallen that day I wouldn't of had to even get the surgery. Not that it's your fault but that's how the doctors told me I should get that dreaded hardware removed."

The appaloosa stallion simply snorted in her face and she sighed, "Fine.. fine..." brown eyes scanned the barn, "Well Ian or Cain isn't around so I think I can sneak in a little teeny tiny ride bud." A grin came over her face and she leaned her cane against his stall as she retrieved his bridle and her helmet from the tack room.

Pulling off his blanket she smiled, perfectly spotless. Well, clean anyway. She slipped the bridle on over his head, and pulled the reins back over his neck as she walked over to his shoulder. "Russian, my dear, would you help a door girl out? C'mon, lay down." And with a grunt the stallion obliged, she slid herself onto his back, than kissed and the stallion rose.

She made her way to the indoor quick. Her jaw clenching a little as Russian threw his head, seeing the jumps. "We're just gonna take it easy bud." She stroked his withers, nodding to herself as if needing to reassure herself.

It was nice and slow, just working him through his gaits a little. But the temptation was all too sweet. There was a small three jump grid of cross rails. She tightened up on the reins a little, closing her knees on him, then turned him toward it. One.. two.. three. Simple enough.

Time went on and she'd worked him over some of the more difficult jumps. There was only one jump she hadn't tried, the four foot wall. Russian's ears turned toward it as they came around the corner. "siamo in grado di fare questo. Spero che russo." she whispered, than let the stallion go for it. His strides lengthened and then there was a burst of power. Her eyes were slammed shut. Letting out a breathe there was moment of peace and she opened her eyes. They'd done it.

So here is Domani and Russian's training image for the The Winter Festival of Show Jumping, Young Horse of the Year class.

Personally I think this is some of my best work yet and I am super proud of how both Russian and Domani came out. I am just like...

Anyway, this is also an information filler to keep you guys filled in on what has been going on over at #Lion-Ridge-Stables with Demi and Russian.

The reference was found somewhere on google I can't seem to find it again.

This is awesome ! The proportions and the conformation of both the horse and the human are really great. We can feel the complicity between her and Russian. I also like how we see the cold in the arena by the breathe of Russian. It's a slight sign, but it gives the final touch tot the picture. Although, like Orstrix said, the perspective seem a bit off, when you look at the window details, you understand how it work.

Great job hun

I really like this piece! The colouring and line on this are really good however I did pick up on something. The perspective seems a little off. the horse and the wall seem ok however, the angle that the jump is drawn is different to the horse and wall. It makes it seem like the horse has either taken off or is about to land in the wall. Other than that, keep up the good work!

It was sort of meant to be that the jump was on and angle facing towards the center of the arena and I had a bit of a tough time portraying the distance between the jump and the wall but I did try and so it was sort of meant to be that the Russian and Demi were coming off of a turn over the jump heading towards the center of the arena. But thank you so much for the comment!
