Sonic 3 & Knuckles is definitely one of the greatest Sonic games ever! And I need to say, you did a hell of a good job making this picture. The way Sonic is colored reminded me of Sonic's 16 bit sprite for that game and how it was a darker shade of blue. And the scene you picked out was very well depicted. Well done TheWax.

It's not really tough if you pick the Flame Shield during the descent. Because the Flame Shield immunizes Sonic from lava and other fire traps.

I know that. Pretty tough to keep it if you're not with lightning reflexes, if you get my meaning (I mean, sure I'm a good game player, but not that great)

I loved that stage soooo much!The memories of playing it,& how easy it was too.I always had so much fun when flying through there,& the boss was really easy.(provided with a fire sheild made it a cakewalk.)

That has to be the BEST artwork of Lava Reef Zone boss fight!
Definately one of the best scenes from S3&K where Sonic/& Tails fall & then the Death Egg re-awakens, incinerating the entire stage! Not like today with all the 3D cinematic cutscenes & all, Back on S3&K, the level-to-level transitions & all the short sprite cutscenes makes the game feel more epic than Sonic1/2/CD & all the current games (feels like an unfolding story after each zone & act)!
Right now, I'm trying to draw the scene where Knuckles just pushed the boulder on top of Sonic & Tails, & while falling, the Death Egg re-awakens! BUT, it's not doing so well only because I find it hard to draw scenes of having the picture looking upwards at a certain angle. I'll still have to practice on that though!
