It is the face, but of what is not known. Only that it is the stalker of the most destructive virus known in creation, the homo sapien.

The face exclusively targets humans above the age of fifteen, and attacks in any environment using a massive variety of methods. Exclusively only active in the dark, killings perpetrated by the face have been tracked through hundreds of years of history across the world. Although the attire and weapon of the face vary through the years, their height, build and mask remain the same. Modern psychiatrists have described the myth as a form of psychological disorder. Many victims of the face experience a mental breakdown in which they come to believe that they are the one and only killer. They on their own continue the legacy with their own clothes and tools, crafting the mask anew and padding their build to resemble the originals. Thus the cycle has continued for ages, although the origin has never been uncovered.

Others say that the nature of this pattern is far less logical then mere psychology. That the surviving victims are left alive on purpose, so that each time the face is slain there is a new puppet to take the place. The will of the first killer goes on, forever in the bodies of children.
