Seriously though, this is one of the few 100% from scratch made in photoshop backgrounds i've ever done, and it is the ONLY one that I"m proud of.

If there is one phenomenon in the Saharica region that grips the imagination and begs for solid answers, it is the mysterious loathing between the two Pokemon, Leviasin and Nessi. Leviasin, a massive water beast who is grumpy to everybody, and Nessi, a Pokemon never seen in the wild but known to be graceful and gentle. But when these two meet, chaos breaks loose and the confrontations are incredibly violent.
While no one is entirely sure why the hatred runs so deep between these pokemon, many possible theories do exist, all stemming from tablets, murals and scrolls from Saharican civilizations from centuries ago. But the language has not been completely translated, a general understanding can be established.
A popular reason could be over the possession of the jewels on Nessi's head and chest. Although not proven by scientific means, it has been strongly believed by many for generations that Nessi's jewels have mystical or even magical properties. It is not made clear in the ancient texts as to HOW Nessi and its descendents came to posses the jewels. One possibility is that they were bestowed upon it, another that is was the prize for some competition between Nessi and Leviasin, or that they were originally in the possession of Leviasin and were either stolen or won from. Since then, Leviasin has fought back violently to either claim or reclaim the treasured prize.
Another story of the ancient texts is of a great battle between the first Leviasin and Nessi over territory, the winner being able to lay claim to the preferred place. But it is unclear as to who won. It is believed Nessi was the victor because of the happiness its pre-evolutions express in Huron bay and the open ocean. However, Leviasin's personality is always grumpy, so it is impossible to tell if part of this foul attitude is because it is a sore loser or just in its nature. So being able to tell if Leviasin is happy in its lake home because of an ancient victory is impossible to determine. Either way, one of them clearly holds a strong grudge, even if it cannot remember why against the other.
The opponents are very well matched. Nessie with its agility, quick thinking and special attacks, Leviasin with its massive bulk of solid muscle, strong armor plating and powerful jaws.
