This is my newest post-apocalyptic sculpture - The Last tree.Unlike the sculpture and jewellery i made before which are mostly ornamental and focusing on the steampunk aesthetics, I wanted to make an end of the world piece of art expressing a strong message , a post-apocalyptic vision of the last tree protected inside a glass dome and a weathered human beaten by pollution siphoning oxygen with his gas mask.
The first prototype was exhibited and sold during the Steampunk exhibition at the Southampton Art Center of last year. It was titled - The Last Human.

This is a true Masterpiece. It is incredibly thought provoking and well done. The dark machine, and the lighter wood pedestal on which the contraption rests complements the tree inside the glass beautifully. The green flecks on the glass and the mask perfectly highlight the scene, bringing out the Mask and the globe. The lighting and deep black background bring it together, emphasizing the globe and tree, as if it is the most important thing in the world. The Whole is a piece that fits together beautifully and is compelling and ponderous. One of my new favorite pieces. Good job!

Wow, this is like a piece out of a Tim Burton film, really marvelous work!! I love it. very intrigued by the thought of a post-apocalyptic world, your idea with the tree & oxygen is brilliant, and reminds me very much a short film that I was watching the other day.
