So, I was pretty friggen stoked for the finale of Avatar: Legend of Korra. Despite its rocky start (to me, I still think the 1st season's pacing is terrible and I'm not a fan of the love triangle thingies), the series along with its titular character grew into more than just a beautifully made piece of work, but into a powerful statement in many different areas. Of course, everyone talks about the Korrasami ship that we never expected to actually sail canonically (is that even a word? It is now xD), but what I really adore about the Korra series is just how many women are involved. That finale? Bad ass women EVERYWHEREEEEE. Even though it seems like there were "a lot" of women, in actuality, there were about an equal amount of men to women in the finale- which is fascinating to me because what "seems like a lot" is actually balanced, which is telling for just how little you see female characters in the spot light doing amazing things as MAIN characters, and not relegated down to just support characters. And the development they made with each main character is just wow. Avatar has really grown into an important piece of animation for me. I could write an essay about it, I'm serious. xDWITH THAT SAID HERE HAVE SOME SUBTLE KORRASAMI xD I was going to put: Best "Friends" on the bottom, but I thought it wouldn't be subtle enough anymore haha xD cuz, you know, giant hearts are totally subtle. OvO Also, yes I had trouble with the background BUT HEY BADLY DRAWN HEARTS WOOOOOOOO WHO CARES THEY ARE GORGEOUS LADIES AND I LOVE THEM~~~~ >w<

Nice image I'm not a fan of the 'Legend of Korra' I just happen to hear about the whole final season ending and what not. I have read what the creators came out and said about it to I think they did a super job with the ending fuck the haters, they only hate it because of religious reasons or just to hate on same sex ideas and stuff like that. IT'S GOOD TO SEE NEW IDEAS IN ANIME. More anime serieses should break out of the same old same old love story a guy meets and girl and they walk off into the sunshine.... boring girl meets girl is good two something new for a chance.

By all means, read all the things! 8D I myself love holding hands and linking arms with my best friends, and the looks we get from other people even though we aren't dating are astounding...! But its comforting though, isn't it? Having a friend who understands you, encourages you, and you know they will always look out for you...even just their mere touch and nearness makes you feel safe and happy! And it doesn't even have to be in a sexual or romantic way at all! However, while the linked arms are innocent enough, Korrasami fans know what gives Asami that enigmatic smile, huhuhuhu~! OvO

Korra endured through pain and suffering to protect the world, even if the world believed that it didn't need her in any way, and was willing to sacrifice herself for the safety and protection of others.
The greatest heroes are those who die for what they believed in, without living to see it.
I wish I knew people like this that existed today.

There are definitely people who exist who make that decision everyday- just look at the men and women who serve in the military...! War takes a toll on everyone, and sometimes people never see what our military goes through unless they've been there, or in a similar field.
But there is also something very awesome about Korra's character development- underneath that brash and driven exterior, you realize that Korra has always been passionate about helping people, and fulfill her role as Avatar- but she just didn't know how until she started listening to others instead of muscling through everything (even though her muscles are so wonderful, wow~). Also, her hair is fabulous in the fourth season too, wow~ >w<

As someone born into a Military family I agree with you. (Of course I also vote for sending the liberal media into a hot combat zone first so there is less ordinance directed at those that really matter, but that's just my personal opinion.)

Oh, we share the same thought, I hated book 1 pacing. I am very glad they made korrasami happened.
And omg yes, sooo many women who kicked ass, not just Korra. This is what I love about the avatar verse. That said, this is as awesome fanart, I looooove how korra looks.

I am SO glad I'm not the only one. I love Avatar as a series, and it finished suuuuuuuper strong! It wasn't without its issues, and the most glaring ones were the 1st season. I could go on about it, but I don't wanna do an essay when I'm about to go to sleep haha xD That isn't to say that season 1 wasn't a successful season, because it was in a way! Especially since they tied it all together by the end!
And I loved that they decided to keep Asami as a good guy instead of making her an Equalist spy as they originally planned, because that crap has been over used and could be seen a mile away. The fact that they made a dark, seductive looking girl who is sweet enough to makes you wonder if she actually has an ulterior motive actually be not just a good guy, BUT A KICK ASS AND COMPLEX GOOD GUY- IS COMPLETELY AWESOME. Cuz they could have made her into a spy that her father ordered to get closer to mako to get closer to korra, but then becomes friends with Korra and realizes that what they're doing isn't actually good...but then it feels like rehashing Zuko's character. So I'm SO glad that they stayed away from that. Aaaaaand enough of that for now cuz if I start fangirling now I'll never go to sleep on time haha xD

I understand how you feel. I just like to think of season 1 as the not-so-good-past but it did tied the story all together. Oh you have no idea how happy I am Asami was casted as part of Team avatar, we won't have Korrasami if that did not happen. x3

Thank Randomguy of "Marvel/DC". It was from a sketch consisting of Silver Age Batman and Superman talking about how great friends they were. In that case, it was meant literally, but the subtext you were meant to take away from the dialogue was clear. It's pretty much the lines that popped into my head as soon as arguments began on what happened in the final scene.

You could've written "best friends" - it became a running gag by now. Saw so many clearly romantic pics where the artist wrote "best friends" just to taunt the haters 
And yes - I love LOK because it shows strong and independent women who can kick ass and are not minor characters. LOK is so important to me, it dominates all my freetime since 6 months now and I hope this intense love will never stop. Gonna need to rewatch it asap

All my friends were scoffing at the best "FRIENDS" thing too, it was hilarious xD I think I'll just sign it on the back that says the line, just for giggles xD Its amazing how the Avatar series (both The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra) has impacted the animation world in terms of themes and character/relationship building. One day, I'll paint more fan art for it to get all my feels out xD
