Description Finished!

I loved the scene in Wall-E where our robot hero discovers a lone plant in an abandoned refrigerator, and puts it in an old work boot for safekeeping. The writing and art direction for this movie were worthy of an Oscar. I couldn't find any screen captures of the boot or the plant, so I had to paint for the first time without using a reference. I'm not 100% happy with it, but it's as good as I could have expected of myself, and it will have a place of honor in my apartment

Medium: Acrylic paints and glitter of course!

Love the work and yes, it is worthy of an oscar, best picture and director. I pox on the Academy for denying Wall-e and Stanton the noms even.

This is awesome...

beautifully done.

I'm not a painter so I can't critique anything... But I love it.

I haven't seen "WallE", but I like your art very much. Seems so... warm, even though there's a snow around.

Actually I don't really want to see that movie. I heard it's nice and I should see it, but... Hmm... I don't know, why, but I don't feel I want to see it.

You're welcome!

I appreciate that, but really...you should see it! Maybe if you have children/nieces/nephews/young cousins or babysitting charges, you could take them.

Unfortunately I don't, even though I'd like to have.
Okay, if you say that - maybe I'll go to the cinema.

I love this painting. I like seeing the texture of the canvas. Excellent results from painting without reference. the green stem against all the brown really brings the painting together.

Thanks so much for your thoughtfully written comment. I like the canvas showing in this painting, but do you know how I can avoid it for other paintings? Do they sell canvas with a less coarse weave?

You're quite welcome.
People who paint portraits or do detailed work usually prefer a smoother canvas. Art suppliers sell smooth canvas for that reason. You can buy them at art supply stores or online at sites like dickblick.com or jerrysartarama.com
Hope that helped you.
