Description
The XL-506 is a alt-history aircraft from end of 30th. Racing biplane (or fighter prototype) with additional two pulse-jet accelerators in couple to powerful piston V-type engine with liquid cooling (heat exchanger placed belowe cockpit). Fixed undercarriage remains for take-off/landing from unprepared field runway, although penalized by additional drag.Related content

Pretty sure those pulse jets would need extra 'bracing' and 'Shock absorbing' around them.

Other than that, it's interesting to see a mostly conventional biplane design here as a nice change of pace.

two thoughts / questions about this a/c
1. do the two pulse engines get enough airflow from the propeller to be safely started at rest?
2. i think this a/c is going to need more trim authority - with the two pulse engines mounted so high over the center of gravity increasing thrust on them should produce a powerfull pitch down moment
