Just noticed I never uploaded these pics... xDIt's an American Akita puppy.
Bit too little and small for an akita, but that's because she didnt grow that well in her mother. She wouldnt come out so she came out with an operation. Almost died in the next few days, but survived

I originally wanted an akita--- but they would not do well with us since we are going to have a baby sometime down the road. They can be pretty aggressive too, right? I know shibas can. We had a bad issue with food aggression once from my shiba... but we corrected it fast

Ooh our shiba has food aggression too! Lol well not with regular food.. but more with special things like bones etc. He just would go sit there protect it all day long, and nobody was allowed to come near haha. We just dont give him stuff anymore like that. So problem's over...
Yeah well... I just think that you need to watch every dog with kids.. not just akitas. Maybe a bit extra idd.
Good idea to just not take the risk! But you can buy one later right? haha
Our 3 akitas are very different by the way... there's not really one kind of behavior they all have. One is very cuddly you know? Always wanna be with you.. the other one usually keeps a distance.. and the youngest one is lazy as hell haha. Also one likes people, other one doesnt... One loves water, the other hates it... etc etc.

It's so true and I do totally agree with you that you're getting a mystery when you buy a puppy... especially with very smart ones like akitas and shibas@ I've raised goldens my whole life and they are basically all the same... loving, cuddly, docile... but they are different but not as much.
One day I will get an akita. I'll wait though. Honestly, if this shiba pup is a handful I don't know if I could handle one

Yeah goldies are sweet but.. at the same time a bit boring i think.
It's more a challenge to buy an akita or a shiba
But idd you need to be consequent and strong (also literarily xD) enough to handle an Akita. Can be hard!
