My beautiful crazy man now has a reference so I can commission art of him hue hue

For anyone who cares, here’s some story fun facts about him
- ‘Fae’ is also called ‘The Fairy Prince’ and ‘the fae king’ though he does not call himself either of these
- his hair grows rapidly, the only reason it doesn’t drag on the ground is that after a while it gets too heavy and it ends up cut.
- Fae possesses a chaotic, unrestrained magic that he has very little control over and he will often use without thinking. It causes an endless number of strange things to happen, including anything as minor as his hair braiding itself to stay out of his way, as major as uprooting a whole tree blocking his path, to anything as horrifying as melting a ram because he wanted to have a crown.
- His magic, along with being unstable and bursting from him in anyway it can, it seems to constantly mutate And grow in power, as he always seems to be discovering things he couldn’t do before.

- Fae is considered in the story to be something of an abomination by both mortals and gods. While I can’t share how he got his magic because of major spoilers, it was not through natural means and technically having a human body trying to contain the power he has, he shouldn’t even be alive. Hence how almost everything about him comes off unsettling, unstable, and unnatural.
- Along with being an abomination, he’s technically in his own category in terms of species. He’s no longer human, his magic is most equivalent of a nymph but he isn’t a nymph, he seems to be both dead and alive at the same time as if in limbo, he’s just all around in a category of his own.

- his markings started to appear as soon as he got his magic, but they started as just a few specks on his body that have since grown, morphed, and covered most of his body. They’re asymmetrical and ever changing and no one knows why he has them or what they mean not even him.

- Fae is 100% an unreliable narrator of his own story. The magic forced on him completely broke his mind and his perception of reality is completely warped and corrupted. He almost never knows what’s completely going on or what anything means and he sort of just accepts that. While nothing he does is ever done with the intention to be cruel or hurt, he doesn’t understand that much of what he ends up doing throughout the story hurts others. While he would never intentionally lie, manipulate, or be deceptive, his word can’t be fully trusted because his perception of reality is so warped and broken.

- Fae creates his own race of beings that he ends up calling the fae after himself, considering them his family. These creatures are all resurrected corpses who he touches and imbues with his magic. (Something that started because he was lonely and wanted a friend) while “the fae” are not a hive mind, all fae he creates are rather empty and tend to do and act however he’d prefer. They are in many ways mindless zombies that Fae controls and commands. (As a side note to go with the previous one, Fae 100% does not register that he has an unstoppable zombie army. His perception is that all of the fae are just his friends and family who want to help him when needed)
- Fae’s ideology is one not even he could understand. He very much believes the world is a nonsense “wonderland” where nothing makes sense and he lives in the moment. He acts with no premeditated, solely on whims and fleeting thoughts. And even if you ask him why he’d do certain things... he often doesn’t know himself and he’s accepted the confusion as part of his reality.
- behind the delusion and warped reality, Fae at his core is an extremely friendly, curious, touchy person. He genuinely wants to learn, explore, and befriend people, but his way of expressing those things are bizarre to everyone other than him and his tendency to hurt people without realizing it doesn’t help either. He is deep down a broken human who doesn’t understand what’s happened to him. (But for anyone wondering, his story does focus on others understanding what he is and HIM understanding what he is, so worry not, his story does not end with him as a misunderstood antagonist, though that is all I can share!)
