Hetalia Volume 3; Japanese edition (on the left) and Chinese edition (on the right)! The Japanese one is mine (I own all the volumes in Japanese), but sadly the Chinese one is not~ D: One of my new Japanese friends here in China is also into Hetalia, and she lent it to me!
I was actually surprised at how much of it I was able to read. I'll have to find out where I too can buy the Chinese ones from!!ย

It's in Simplified Chinese. But your dad would probably have to buy it online (on Taobao or something), because I never saw any Hetalia manga in ordinary book stores while I was in China.ย

I bought the Japanese one on the internet, and I borrowed the Chinese one from my friend. She said that she bought it on Taobao.

I should think the Chinese one wouldn't be difficult to understand if you know Japanese. :3 It's like an English person reading French. You just guesstimate the words. :3

Haha yes, there are quite a lot of words that I know the meaning of, but have no idea know to pronounce in Chinese!

Sometimes they can sound vaguely similar, but that's like comparing Mandarin to Cantonese... Takes al ot of guesswork and having the actual words before you to figure out the connection. XD

That is so awesome. I think it's cool that Hetalia is very internationally successful, which also makes sense if you think about it.

I actually didn't know that the Hetalia manga had been officially published in Chinese, I thought it had only been scanlated by Chinese fans. So I was really surprised when my friend said she owned the Chinese editions!!
