Client tried to post a review of the letter opener, but ran into some technical difficulties, so she asked me to put it here.

I am the proud owner of the first commissioned piece by thinkerofthoughts. The Peanut Letter Opener. This is the first piece of fine art I have ever acquired. The letter opener is made from distinct parts that flow together in a pleasing way. The handle of the piece is made from mixed woods in an inlaid pattern. The inlay work is very clean, but also very organic. The vines and peanuts are raised and carved to give a more natural sense to the peanut and vine motif. The guard is in a shape that I requested. Mainly straight with curves at each end. It fits well in the overall design of the piece and I am pleased with my choice. The blade is a work of art in and of itself. The metal is etched with the same peanut and vine motif found in the handle. This “unnecessary” work is part of what makes the letter opener so unique. An “above and beyond” touch. Finally, the bronze peanut shaped pommel on the end of the handle completes the piece perfectly. As for utility, the opener is slightly heavy in the hand, and weighted such that the blade is easiest to slide into an envelope. Since I commissioned the Peanut Letter Opener from across the country with the help of sketches on email, I didn’t know what to expect until I received it. I say in all honesty that this piece has exceeded my expectations more than I ever imagined it would. Thinkerofthoughts is a true artist and I hope he will continue to offer to the world pieces of such unique beauty.
