i wanted to work with color. and contrast. so i took this. not the most... technically correct shot... focus is weird and stuff... but i really love the color and contrast.i microwaved a gold cd. wiped a damp sponge over it, put it on a black t-shirt. and shot it.
and you have this.

the focus has really grown on me now. i agree with ~byrnfri , it's likes it melting or something...

I cannot comprehend the colors you have captured, and the detail at which you have captured them. This is truly an amazing photograph.
How did you get the black backdrop for all of these photos (were they all black t-shirts)? Is this studio work?

yea, used a black t-shirt in all of them, and no it's not studio work. i don't even own any extra lighting. i use the sun coming in from windows mostly.

Vibrant , shiny colours! I quite like the focus... The angle, the texture, it makes a very interesthing piece to look at. Perhaps as it is a litle bit to tecnical without a concept, it can be condired a litle bit bland.
But as you said, you wanted to work with colour, you did, and you nailed a great shot!

Ok the focus actually does work and I'm glad you like it because I do. The color..I know you're iffy on it too. Did you try desaturating it since you'd be focusing on the actual "melting" effect rather than the trippy colors AND the melting..?
Great concept though. Something I would personally change is the border. It seems too thick. Try a smaller one with a secondary border aroudn the edge of the pic--make the secondary border thin and white, off-white, or grey. That's just me. good job overall.

on top of it, so i could get the black to come through, without any lighting or shine reflecting off of the black. black ti shirts make great back drops
