oh how did you construct the tail?
I've been needing a pretty sturdy base since I'll be doing a shark

I used a 14 guage wire wrapped in strips of batting so it was light yet sturdy. THe base of the tail itself was just the wire looped around the belt. There are other methods however, if you want a really sturdy base, they make these belts for fishermen, that usually go around the front, is plastic, and you lock your fishing pole into it for stability. You can simply turn that around, and use it as a tail base. You can find those at Bass Pro Shop or other sports/fishing stores n.n Hope that helps!

oh, and another if I may ask!
what kind of fabric did you use? I'm not too keen on using the usual fluff because, sharks don't have fluff as well! |D

I recommend Crushed Penne, or "Crushed velvet," as it is a bit shiny, very short short fuzzy, just enough to hide ladder stitching and seams, and gives it a nice texture. It's what I used for Night Fury and my Tails costume

Thanks! And man if only I could FIND half the shizz I bought that quarter! I could have sworn I had clear egg-shaped things I bought at scad for fursuit eyes but I couldn't find them anywhere xDDDDDDDDDDD These eyes were actually cut from a Big Lots shasta 2.5 liters. It's interesting, 2liter bottles have that narrower top? but 2.5 liters have this PERFECT round bulgy curve! I wasn't expecting it to work out as well as it did XD It was one of those happy accidents

I freakin love those arms! If this were a vinyl toy i would chew on em' XDDDDD Also the head looks GREAT! so cute and round, the fabric choices were spot on I cant wait for the whole thing! Also are you still doing the saddle as the harness?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ThirdPotato In reply to OhSadface [2010-10-21 18:21:53 +0000 UTC]
ROFL XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD Dude.Ilovechewingonvinylthings. I used to lick vinyl things though. Chewing them made the surface not as smooth. to. lick. ._.
XD Anyway thanks so much!!!!! And yeah I totally want to do the saddle-harness-wing-thing if I can do it in time for Nekocon which is on NOv 5th D8 I've not done wings before. so that's definitely new cosplay/fursuit territory for me. XDDDDDDd
