Most girls would be disgusted by this. I'm outside in the hot summer sun, sweating like a pig. I'm barefoot standing on hard dusty ground surrounded by about a hundred people (mostly guys) sitting in lawn chairs or on wooden risers staring slack jawed at my tits and ass in a skimpy sports bra and these tight denim shorts respectively. I've got rough red leather boxing gloves on and I'm about to fight four matches in a row. Like I said, most girls would be disgusted by this...

I'm not most girls.

I stretch out my arms and legs, rotating my torso to loosen up. I think about how I got roped in to this – fitting since this "ring" I'm in is just four thick wooden fence posts and two ropes strung around it. My husband got a call from an old friend of his from high school who was living down south. He was making plans to go to the County Fair and told him about the annual "Ladies Boxing Tournament." Asked if I was interested.

First prize is $10,000. So I go down south, beat the shit out of some outta shape country bumpkins and rednecks and get 10 grand? Pfft! Easiest money in the world.

My first opponent, Jolene, steps into the ring. Oh jeez, she's just a kid! Can't be more than 18 or 19. She looks cute in her short leather skirt and bikini top. And she knows she's cute. She's flirting with every piece of man flesh around the ring...

It's gonna feel good to bloody up her face.

The "ref" (some beer belly trucker) calls us to the center to explain the rules one more time. It's unlimited 3 minute rounds. Fight ends when one of us is knocked out or gives up. No low blows, no rabbit punches, no kidney punches yada yada yada, whatever!

Jolene is trying to act tough. Must be difficult – considering she's three inches shorter and I'd guess 15 pounds lighter than me. She snarls at me.

"You ready for this, granny? Imma ugly up your face even more!"

That's just precious.

"Keep talking bitch," I reply, "that'll make it even funnier when you're crying in the corner like a baby."

We back up in to our corners and I start bouncing on the balls of my feet. No mouth guards or groin protectors and our our seconds in between rounds just water us, wipe off the blood and ice us a bit.

This is gonna be nasty... I like it!

ROUND 1

The timekeeper rings a big cow bell to start the fight. I get my fists up and dart towards Jolene, who's stance is pathetic. She's got her fists like a foot in front of her face. Seriously girl?

I pepper her face with jabs, snapping her empty head back like a speed bag – her high pitched yelps make her sound like a hurt puppy. She tries to throw a right hand. I bat it away... then counter with a right cross to her jaw.*

She wasn't anticipating this and staggers back. Her knees start knocking and I think I can actually hear her whimpering... oh delicious!

I hop forward and turn her into a punching bag. Jabs to the face. Hooks to the chin. Couple of uppercuts to her tummy... and a breast shot or two for the fellows in the audience.

After her face is nice and red from my fists, she drops her fists. I rare back and slam my right glove into her nose. She falls flat on her back, spread eagled, blood dripping from her nose and tears welling in her glazed over eyes.

The trucker of a ref pushes me back into another corner and starts the count. This was pitiful! I turn my back on this loser and lean my arms against the ring post.*

"8... 9... 10! She's out!"

They ring the big cowbell and a couple of strapping boys climb into the ring to cart Jolene off. The trucker raises my arm and declares me the winner by first round knockout.

I listen to the crowd and hear a smattering of applause... but I also hear a fair bit of heckling and booing. These hicks don't like the fact that some Yankee girl has come down here to beat up their pretty ladies... well sucks to be you. I scowl at the crowd.

I'm here to fight, so shut the fuck up.
