Description
This is a screenshot from the classic 1965 episode of Doctor Who "The Space Museum", starring William Hartnell as The Doctor, William Russell as Ian Chesterton, Jacqueline Hill as Barbara Wright and Maureen O'Brien as Vicki Pallister. The Doctor needed a place to hide so... hello, Dalek!Sorry for the bad quality!

Possibly because it took Ian and Barbara a few episodes to "defrost" him, but he spent most of his ternure being all sassy and mischievous engaging in various shenigans with Vicky.
As for the amount of smartass, it has yet to significantly decrease as of series 8...

Yeah, i know what you mean. They weren't expecting the regeneration. When they saw the doctor dying, they were all probably crying, then he regenerates and they were all probably like "what the hell?"

I thought it was really unexpected. He just didn't feel well and then BOOM! New body xD Plus it would throw me off completely because 2 gets up and refers to "the Doctor" as another person. . . which I thought was very odd. . . might be the regeneration in his brain settling down though. Lol.
