the color gradient is great, but i think that the various elements could be merged a bit better especially the flower

This is stunning! I do wish it was a more screen-friendly size, simply because scrolling back and forth-- its just hard to appreciate how it all works together, and it really DOES work together perfectly. The only possible critique/suggestion I could make would be to take some of the blue from the woman's face and repeat it very subtly on the right side somehow, or conversly, graining out the left side of the woman's face to look less photographed and more grungy (like the rest of the image.) However, having her be so realistic in an image so gritty also says something and gives a definite feeling to the piece. Excellent and a must fave!

i think i know where you got the stitches, was it a stock photo of a stapled banana? i have them somewhere on my computer but i cant seem to find them :\ il get back to you when i figure out who the credit is, if i can find it. anyways good job on that, i like it.

wow, awesome!!!
this drawing gives me a feeling that nothing changes after death. dunno, you see two versions of the girl, one that inspires life and the other that inspires death, or decay. but in both of them you see the same calm and contemplation in her eyes (erm... i mean her eye). it's like she doesn't even notice the difference.
and the middle part of the image looks like a tunnel of pain... the hand looks like screaming.
the only thing that seems a little out of place is the way the colors from the left version of the girl fade to the colors of the rest of the image. maybe the change is a little too sudden... maybe the part between the girl's face and the stitches should still be a gradual change of color. i'm just guessing, maybe it would suck... dunno.

Interesting work. Strikes me as a statement of duality opinion on a set subject, at first glance. Interesting blend of expression and imagery.
The technical blending is real loose in many places, slightly better in others [the flower]. It is a matter of personal preference, but I prefer as tight and realistic blending as posable [I think that tight blending encourages technical and conceptual skill improvement, for reasons I won't go into here]. Overall though the flow of images is well laid out. Because of the inward pointing eyes of the faces the center of the image is an especially important point, it's a shame it is rather under-designed and drowned out by the sides.
Over all good work, no defined message but in a way that leaves the door open for people to draw their own message. Something special in the work imho, so it gets a fav. [Great to see people using our stock in interesting work this month, can wipe the dust off the fav button].

thanks alot for the critique.
there was really no specific idea in this, my friend just said "go crazy", and indeed this went thourgh 3 or 4 different concepts, of me just adding pictures to see if they worked. i was actually going to have some of the Tortura stock from you in there, but i changed my mind.
i know what you mean on the blending, and i totally agree with you. i plan to go on and master the image, (since i finished it at 4 AM). i know i can make good manipulations, but i want to get it to the point where it's flawless, so the surreal looks like it could actually happen somewhere. i've been so caught up with graphic and web design for freelance clients, most of which required very little to no manipulation. It's been forever really. haha this was almost kinda like "Wow, I can still use Photoshop."
as for the middle, i rather like that it's somewhat bare. while i didn't have any concrete concept or idea behind this, i think the empty space reflects alot on how i create art. alot of times, there really is just empty space in my mind, even when i have a concrete concept. my pieces usually come about as a result of a lot of trial and error, constructions and reconstruction. a lot of stream of conciousness and tangents. i think the two eyes looking toward the middle are looking in anticipation for what's to come. like dualities anticipating the synthesis of their thesis and antithesis. i think a better title for this would help reflect that. I just chose the Dreaming because it reminded me of some of my dreams, and agin, it was 4 AM .
thanks so much for the critique, and i'll letyou know when the mastered version is up.
