A trap with pink hair eh? That's interesting.
For critique: The chin tapers up way too steeply to look normal and I think the mouth is a bit tilted. The eyes look pretty ok tho. I won't be sugar coating this, but the hair needs a lot of work. For one thing, the bangs seem flat and messy. You should think of hair as clumps instead of triangles that you just stick at the end of some mass. Also, the highlights don't look normal at all. They don't seem to follow any light source and make the hair look like plastic. Also, using the smudge tool isn't helping here, it just makes it messy. If you want to blend, better use a soft brush at low opacity.
Otherwise, the eyes look pretty good, your lines aren't that bad and your color choices are ok. The lips were drawn nicely too. Good job with that!

How could I make the hair better then? How should I actually change up my method to make it look right? Oh, and the purpose of the smudging of the highlight on the hair was actually to give off an illusion of being able to somewhat see the hair strands. Seems like that didn't work though -oh well, just time to try something new then! I'll try out something else, this time with a bit more light source in mind.

I really appreciate it, it's a big help, really. And I don't mind that you didn't sugarcoat it at all, it's not like you came off mean or whatever else one could come up with. If it seemed hateful it could've been uncomfortable, but seeing as it didn't then it's not exactly a thing to worry about here.

First of, I suggest looking at some hair then studying how they look like. Using references isn't a bad idea too, especially so that you can get an idea of how the hair falls around the face. You would notice that the hair curves according to perspective and that they make clumps of different shapes and sizes (that don't always end in a point!). I honestly can't give a solid way for changing your method since you'll have to find out yourself (and I'm also not uber good at hair myself so there's that xD) If you want the illusion of hair strands, light and shadow will be your friends here. Also, you can use the brush tool and draw a few lines to suggest the strands. It's good to know that you're open to new things! That's a good sign that you'll be improving in no time
