Description
This is Houdini, one of my four week old rats. He's named Houdini because he's the escape artist of the two. He has found a way out about 3 times until I perfected the cage which I now call Alcatraz because it looks like a prison from the outside since I've taken so many security measures.All the chicken wire and plexi glass will come off once they get bigger, but for now it'll look like that.

One of my mice kept escaping. I wonderedΒ if I was forgetting to put him back - until I found the hole he had deliberately chewed. One of the Habitrail cells developed a crack, and he somehow guessed that if he enlarged it...
He was the only escaper. Male mice do not get along and I had to keep hem separate.

Anyway, I bought a replacement unit, afer I jerry-rigged repairs on he one he damaged. The cheek of these mice !

Awww so cute. What a cheeky little face. Does he escape and just sort of stare at you till you pick him up?
I'm having the same problem with my new Rat Saffron. I've surrounded the entire cage in flywire but she is still managing to get out!

He escapes and climbs my curtain to get to my bed. Then he waits on my pillow until I come in and pay attention to him (:
I had to twist-tie all the chicken wire around the cage then put plexi-glass on the top of the cage.

Awww, so cute. Mine just sits on top of the cage staring at me till I give her some attention. I can't believe how much I love these little creatures. They are the best pet ever!
