Description
Malen was the apprentice to an apothecary who unfortunately got bitten while trying to treat a patient who turned out to have been bitten themselves by a zombie. Malen's teacher was zombified and they dedicated the next few months of their life to curing her.
the process took a lot of research and also a dangerous amount of interaction with the undead.
Malen did eventually manage to cure their mentor, but in the process they themselves had become extremely ill. their mentor woke to find them laying dead nearby and buried them.
they woke up a few days later as a vampire.
they have essentially isolated themself from society, other than occasional visits to their mentor to exchange notes and resources.
