Description Taken on October 12, 2012 on the Slave River rapids. A very beautiful and chilly (-12oC) morning. I've lost count of how many I've spent down in this place!

Edit* lowered saturation

Enjoy!

Haha, it's been -5 where I live now in the evening and I'm still wearing shorts hahaha. It's what happens when you endure a few months of -30C for ten or more years. You actually enjoy milking -5 mid november

Omg that's so crazy haha! I don't think I would ever adapt. I lived in NY for most of my life, and I never adapted to that cold weather, and was always freezing even in summer haha.

I like that this is sort of an uncommon image, especially in regards to composition. The curved lines lead my eye nicely through the image, and I love the reflection of color on the rock in the foreground.

I love when a comment shows that you really looked, thank you very much. I notice you are also quite the photographer so that is to be expected but in a way, means more!

Aww, thanks! It's definitely nice to get more than just "that's beautiful" as a comment. You're welcome.

Yeah! And...Since for some reason I didn't watch you before, I've corrected that.

Thank you Kyle. I dropped the saturation, got home from the restaurant and I look at it..THE HELL? I'm weird like that.

No worries, mate. Trying to get the intensity of colour that you want is tricky. I like intense colours, but it's always a fine line between realistic and unrealistic. I tend to work with my photos and when I think I've got it how I want it, I'll put it aside overnight and look at it again the next day. That can really give you a fresh perspective.

That's a great technique, I'll have to keep that in mind. I've spent to long not having a copy of PS that I'm 'learning to ride the bike" again.

I highly recommend the Nik plugin "Colour Efex Pro."

I've heard Nik software is really good. I'll definitely check it out.

Another superb shot! I especially like that the uprising fog seems like a ghostly ship in the distance, quietly looming and oddly poetically so. Plus, the different textures and layers are very appealing, alternating between calm softness conveyed via sunset colors, treeline and fog, the almost graspable crisp and solid smooth rocks, a fog-clad waterline bordering on a pool or stream of almost satinlike water quality touching on another part of rocky shore kissed by the interplay of competing sky and sun but also weather-scarred like an old warrior of eternal erosion. In less words: spectacular capture, my friend!

Thank you Kat I like this one, though I struggled a bit with the raw and final adjustments. I'm always stuck on whether my skies have too much color. I pulled this image back in saturation twice, I'm debating round three but that's just how I do

Hmm, yes, I see that struggle in myself too, sometimes. Simply do what feels right for you. Be as wild and free and wonderful as you wanna be. Btw: still haven't had enough time to take a closer look at the story, sorry. Got some unexpected extra work. Didn't even had time for new photography, darnit...
Maybe I can make some room timewise on Thursday.
Anyways - your photos are totally magnificent!

(I did the third unsat after all)

Thank you again.. you're sweet!

Seriously donnnt worry about when you respond to stuff. When I wasn't doing so well, or busy, I was totally gone from dA for MONTHS and while I feel bad for it, stuff happens, and I for one am a pretty patient person, so you don't gotta even think about it with me. I mean, when I posted on your deviation, I didn't mean "HEY why aren't you talking to me" (that might be creepy actually...haha) it was more "HEY..You should talk to me if you want/need to." Anyway, yeah, take your sweet time. It is mostly meant to be enjoyed, not completed  I'm gonna have my head buried in this stuff for so long that eventually you'll HAVE to take your time

Heehee, thanks, I guess, I am.

Okay. I will try to take my time and hurry all the same. Haha. No worries, I got what you meant.
You are the kindest person ever.
