The New Orleans was designed by arcass, my collaborator on the Leonov series and a dear friend of too many years.This was my contribution to the 2008 Traveller calendar. I had worked for quite a while on getting the New Orleans just right, consulting with arc, and was very happy her first print production was in the calendar Andrew Boulton at Traveller 3D does every year, all proceeds going to charity. I got to contribute two pieces to this years!
So here we see two small SDBs escorting civilian ships through a traffic corridor that passes close to the main population centers of the ocean-world Marianus, the four enormous arcologies in the background.

I'm afraid not, badruk. Those are very low resolution models that came with Lightwave 7, and they really dont hold up well to closeups. I have thought more than once about building a detailed model based on them, though.

I really like the bright colors and the composition here. The colors remind me of my flights over the Caribbean.
And I just love that sporty little red hot rod on the lower left. Are there any other images of that one?

My only problem comes from the background, it's quite difficult to give a scale to the building and I tend to see them as quite small, I would have add some details around, like ships to help giving a scale.

I guess you could say it's "based on (the) MegaTraveller (universe)", but the subject may be more evocative of the original Traveller. Certainly the ship that I designed is aimed at the era and I think Drell-7 tried to capture more of a "sci-fi trading sense of wonder" in the image rather than "an interstellar empire reeling under civil war".

Drell-7 and I both try to design from a practical and usable angle. The Alexandria was designed to work AND be sleek. And if you look at the Leonov images in Drell-7's gallery you can see a great fusion of our (similar) ship design abilities at work.

That hotel complex set the scene for lots of home grown designs for structures designed for vaccuum environments, it had never occurred to any of us before that release to design fixed structures using the high guard ship design rules. A sweet pack too. Did you get the great aslan pack with the sleek and curvy aslan ships? A total reversal from later aslan stuff that looked more klingon than anything else.

I never had the Aslan set, but I know a friend did. I don't recall the deck plans, but I recall thumbing through the accompanying booklet. The only other deck plans I have are for a 2000 ton Zhodani Vlezhdatl class Strike Cruiser that FASA put out.

I used to have quite a few of the packs but unfortunately they aren't amongst the survivors of 20 plus years living out of a suitcase as a corporate gypsy. We've the King Richard still, part of the aslan pack and that hotel module besides which we've all the skyraiders trilogy, excellent set of adventures they were
So this stuffs still available then? Even better but pdf deckplans are about as much use as a chocolate coffee pot unless of course one of your players happens to still own an A0+ drawing board to enlarge them for use as game surfaces.

Very true... though I guess you could take the pdf to a printer with a large-scale copier and run off a set. We've got a few of those around here so when I eventually build up my library I'll most likely go that route.

I never did get that Hotel Complex set. I was a real junkie for that early FASA Traveller stuff. They did some cool stuff! Eventually I became friends with Bill and Andy Keith, which was pretty cool

Sadly I didn't discover them until later after they stopped making them, but fortunately I was working at a game/hobby store at the time and was able to snap up whatever they had
