Description
This is a wallpaper that I made as part of the announcement that we would be standardizing the Starfleet uniforms worn by non-player characters in Star Trek Online. We chose the "Odyssey" uniform because it was a design original to STO but also felt like an organic evolution of the Starfleet uniforms featured in the "prime" universe TV shows and movies.I helped develop the look of the Odyssey uniform with STO's lead character artist at the time, and did a lot of the gruntwork of updating all of the NPCs to use it. It has been a great feeling to see it starting to show up in cosplay circles as a legitimate entry into the pantheon of Starfleet uniforms!
Another part of the rollout was the creation of the Starfleet Uniform Code - I took all of our default uniform colors and wrote a pamphlet instructing players how to replicate these new "official" standard uniforms if they wanted to - all styled as an official Starfleet publication. AGT is one of the ugliest uniforms that they should just remove from canon. I feel like the evolution of the uniform doesn’t work as AGT seems out of place. I do like STO uniforms.

My favorite uniforms are TOS, TMP, TWOK and TNG film series.

STO Sierra is without a doubt my favourite. In my story collaboration with Jetfreak, this is Starfleet's uniform since 2399.
I have to add, STO is non-canon, so the story, and my other little tales ignore its timeline.

ST2 through ST6 are my favorite uniforms followed by the First Contact through Nemesis/Season 5 through Season 7 DS9 uniforms.

nice and i have to say i think the Odyssey is a great choice for the standard uniform and it really does feel like a continuation of the uniforms used in the TNG movies and later seasons of DS9
BUT one thing, if this is meant to show ALL the prime timeline uniforms seen then you're actually missing one, the one worn by the crew of the Kelvin in Star Trek (2009) because don't forget their destruction was the point time changed in such a way a new reality was created but before this they were part of the prime timeline too so their uniforms were as well

I have to admit, the Odyssey is a much better uniform than the older Sierra. Much easier to turn into a combat-ready outfit.

Yep, love the Odyssey uniform. I honestly really didn't like the others presented in STO (Ie. Sierra), as they imho didn't feel as successors to the traditional design of the Trek ones; but the Odyssey is a good mixture of an actual uniform-representative-look & the traditional design set by the series.

I always hated that they stuck with the AGT uniform for other future episodes (DS9 "The Visitor" which had one part in 2422, and Voy "Endgame" which was in 2404), but it never really felt right to use another uniform because of that.
However, the Odyssey is one of those really good uniforms that is obviously a progression from the First Contact style, and I love that it's now the standard uniform. It's just that good.
