Download for fullsize and crispyness!EDIT: I went back to this one, changed a few things that bothered me. Like his stomach, toned down his unnatural abs and widened his abdomen a little. There are a few other things I want to change but I'll do that some other time. Cheers people!
Gladiator about to send some walking dead back to the grave!
It feels good to start 2012 with this painting. I've really giving it a lot of love and time, and it's probably my best piece to date. I feel my anatomy studies are starting to pay off!
Although it ate up a lot of time, I really enjoyed this one! I hope you do too!

Before reading your description of it, I saw this picture in a more... symbolic light.
As in, they were the spirits of the long dead, those who died in the arena. For those who fight, they are forever present. As they battle they fight upon the bones of the dead, sands where their blood was spilled. And here, another one will soon join them.
(how to explain it? I explain bad. It is more of a feeling, I guess~)

All of the zombie movies and stuff are set in modern times. THIS, though. This is cool. There's a lot to love about this piece, but I think the detailing on the helmet is my favourite part. ^_^

This is really excellent! I love the details in his helmet, and the movement and power in your gladiators pose. There are so many details that keep popping up as I look at this! Absolutely stunning. Truly a job well done.
