Loving the Mongolian/steppes of Asia vibe to this guy. I love how well the fur lined clothing commonly seen with barbarians blend so well with his colorful silk clothing. Lovely piece here! Well done!

Like Skyrim, every town guard is an ex-adventurer that took an arrow to the knee, they automatically downgrade to guards as soon as the arrow hits their knees

Well practice practice practice! With this piece I started with black and white just getting down the values, nothing too detailed at that point. Then I went over with an overlay to set my basic color scheme. Then it's a lot of painting over and refining stuff. Hope it helped!

Oh and another thing! have a good idea on how different materials react to light and such. So you can easily sell the visual of what kind of fabric or material it is.
