"Her love of plants had inspired her to build a garden,
She spent most of her free time making her dream come true,
As she went around to make sure the plant life were okay,
She was known as The Mother of Plants by Mewnians"

The name "gardenia" comes from a flowering, tropical plant that would grow in the warm, tropical climates. Her dress has the look of a lily pad and her cheek marks are green flowers. Her wand takes form as a "bell wand", which became a common form for her descendants.

Gardenia Butterfly had fascination with nature ever since she was a little girl. When her mother Memphis, the Constructor, had finished building the Butterfly Castle, Gardenia had dreamt she would build a huge garden in the courtyard once she turned queen. When she inherited her wand at 14, Gardenia had learned spells that were related to plants and would use them for combat or healing purposes. Her strong connection to nature had caused her to go around, taking care of the plant life (even considered them as her "children") most of her time, where Mewnians would call her The Mother of Plants.

During her reign, the corn fields were suffering from growth loss when the queen had noticed red blotches on the crop that caused it to decrease its dwarf size. Mewmans were suffering from hunger and were not able to consume their favorite crop, causing a few people to die from hunger. Unhappy to see her people suffering, Gardenia had made a spell to where she cured all the corn field, making them well-nourished and return back to their natural growth. The queen had called this event The Maize Dwarf Plague.

Gardenia had married her husband Arthur Atlantica in 99 a.M. She gave birth to Festivia, the Fun in 100 a.M, Saturnalia Butterfly-Forest in 103 a.M, Dogwood Butterfly in 104 a.M, Woodstock Butterfly-Jewel in 106 a.M, and Fantasia Butterfly in 108 a.M, one year shy from the plague even begun.

Note: Soupina the Strange considers Gardenia to be one of her favorite queens of all time.

The dress was an inspiration from Princess Tiana's lily pad dress. Originally, Gardenia was going to have a shade of pinks, but I changed it because I felt like green would suit her better. Her cheek marks were also originally medium pink, but I changed it to green. The color combination (red hair and green outfit) is also an inspiration from Poison Ivy, because she is one of my favorite characters in DC Comics <3

I had lost my muse for at least 3 whole weeks due to my stress from my job and such, but I regained inspiration again
