I like this design a lot. The main points I like are the layered blades, the simple transformation, and the elegant design. You didn't get too fancy, which I prefer. It is a common mistake to over complicate things, that the designer does very little original design, giving a character a blade that could never be practically wielded in the first place (Cloud Strife, I'm looking at you).
What is unique about this particular blade is that I can see how it could be used in the real world. In fact, I even made a Cad blueprint of this blade to see how it would hold up in a real world enviroment.
I have only two suggestions after creating the model, and analyzing it. The first is regarding the hinge near the blade. if this is going to be a close combat weapon capable of both slashing and stabbing, I would design a larger or stronger hinge to hold up against the force required for this to be an effective weapon. The hinge itself is the weapons main weak point.
The second modification I would make would be the balance. If this is to be used as a single handed (or as a dual wielded weapon), I would put more weight on the "hilt" of the weapon. this would not only give you better balance in a single handed combat, but it would also allow you to have a more sturdy "quarter staff" adaptation when the two blades were connected.

Si elle était combinée de base ça aurait été stylé en travers du dos.
Mais les deux trucs séparés j'sais pas, à la ceinture l'animation sera moins "cool" mais c'est beaucoup plus réaliste à condition qu'il y aie une protection (style truc dans l'armure où elles s'emboîteraient). Parce que je vois mal le mec courir avec ses deux grosses lames qui ballottent contre ses jambes XD
