Description
The Communist Union of Colonies attempt at manufacturing a new weapon. The design was not new but a modification to the Puma IFV. It kept the 30mm cannon and gave the design as much modifications as possible to make it a modern IFV. Surprisingly it was an effective weapons platform and genuine threat. The 30×165mm cannon was mated to a coaxial 12.7x108mm machine gun made the Modular Fighting Vehicle a decent IFV. Its armor is equal to a tank like the leopard 2A7 while only weighing 40 tons. Its armor plating was such that its side armor could protect the crew from 130mm cannon fire. Its frontal arc While in contrast to IFV's like the M9 Lee it is inferior to a great degree for the first few years of the Fedcom war the ECF was tasked with M-20 Badger IFVs which had 40mm Gauss gun and only slightly better armor protection. The fight between the M-20 Badger and the ZBL-15 were evenly matched. ECF command promptly ordered and rushed the first viable 22nd century IFV to the front lines to support the M10 Harris tank deployment. The effectiveness of the ZBL-15 did buy much needed time as ECF forces had to prioritize tank deployment to maintain the technological edge. The only true failures of the ZBL-15 are that despite being fully amphibious the hulls were not properly welded, and its crews. Arguments were made in the ECF to deploy more Strike Force Marine assets liberally but the trans human warriors were rapidly being spread thin. While the public did support the war effort the ever growing gap between trans human soldiers and the civilian population drew concerns from the latter.
