Description Hi guys

This piece is my entry for the "Starcraft" Art competition, 2d environment.

its a zerg protoss hybrid realm.

Learnt shitloads with this piece, thanks to an early imagine fx issue with john kearney and darryl mandryk, their tips gave me many lightbulb moments. (hehe yea i found a place that stocks the mag though they are for sure a few months behind!. still waiting for me copy )


I also learnt that staying away from the net can help with speedier results haha
hope you like it as i am very proud of this baby!..

BTW the guidlines say that one can promote their entries, which is why i am posting!...*don't swipe this and use it as your entry*... for some reason i had a feeling to say that!.

I remember your work from back in the early days of GFX, and wow you have a serious portfolio going on now! This piece is stunning - I love the bruised sky on the horizon and the iridescent blues here and there.

aaah! I remember you, and actually I was thinking of you the other day, you left a tutorial on how to draw with pencil. and that was on Epilogue, that one was helpful, so great to see you again

Oh my goodness, that was so long ago! I had a major go-slow with the drawing and am trying to kick start it again I'm slowly finding familiar faces (names?!) on all the sites I used frequent!

this is really good but...I don't think the Zerg care much for technology they would turn a Protoss city into bubbling Kreep and take the Protoss bodies to ad to the Swarm!


Personaly I play Zerg and Protoss I just like them better.

yea that does seem to be the major aesthetic. but i did take into consideration some zerg design for the tower and some fleshy like texture for the carrier..i'll try harder next time hehe

it was about 18mnths ago..you might want to check blizzards homepage and see if they kept any archives..didn't think much of the winning entries to be honest!. still much fun to be had

Just thought you might be interested. You can submit as many different pieces of artwork as you want. And there's plenty of different categories (pencil art, photoshop, 3d graphics etc.) of competition that you can win in and theres only 5 days to go.

This is truely impressive, expesionally how you intergrated the nexus with the hatchery. ^^

And that "Carrier" ..just perfect! ^^

thats cool you still get a big buzz looking at this piece. I used to get that feeling many years ago at looking at others, i don't so much these days unfortunately..It is great to know my art does this for people..Thanks for letting me know ^^.
