Description
My entry for epilogues "secret places" contest."Just imagine yourself walking down the pathway, exploring the ancient architecture, the surrounding forests. And as you stare out over the great river, you gaze upon a colony of drifters, a nomadic civilization, moored and settling in for the night."
Well certainly the least troublesome piece for me so far
. I tried all sorts of narratives for this, involving people, miniature steam boats floating down stream. But alas, anything added only subtracted from what i have here. Thus leaving the landscape to sing for itself 
. heh..It's not perfect, but i am happy.Crits welcomed

UPDATE oopps forgot to mention that the city, is small. It's a miniature civilization. There is an archway on the island that is an exact sized version of the one onland framing the tree. Just a little hint XD.

This and "Neptune" are my favorite pieces that you have done...
The colors blow me away every time I see them! What absolutely captivates me is the way the mountains fade into the sunrise, and the sky. I can't quite place my finger on what it is... I think the shape of the river is a very nice touch that adds to the motion of the eye and over all compostition that makes a serene feeling. Not to mention that I can just immagine walking in the chill of the morning and seeing such a gorgeous sceen! :3

Those 2 pieces are very similar in technique, indeed, virtually identical and very rarely used. Those 2 were flukes that were meant to be i guess. The initial stages are very random, but eventually end up as something..Twilight had a finish to it i haven't quite nailed in my later pieces, especially with the background etc..Thanks very much kari, and yea i do remember you from Elfwood, I appreciate the kind words of support
